Commonly Asked Questions

FAQ's

Cell Phone and Wi-Fi
The Avantura does offer free Wi-Fi. It works well and is stable especially when in port. We mostly communicate via “WhatsApp” and recommend downloading the app to your phone.

If you only need to charge phones, you can order this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B41VPHG8ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A2N431DYIC8O3P&th=1

If you need to charge laptops, hairdryer, curling iron, you will need a power converter: https://www.amazon.com/International-Adapter-Converter-Straightener-Universal/dp/B07V81Q4XG/ref=sr_1_4

ATMs
The easiest and best way to get cash in Croatia is from an ATM (Bankomat). The Cirrus (tel. 800/424-7787; www.mastercard.com) and PLUS (tel. 800/843-7587; www.visa.com) networks span the globe; look at the back of your bank card to see which network you’re on, then call or check online for ATM locations in your destination. Be sure you know your personal identification number (PIN) before you leave home and be sure to find out your daily withdrawal limit before you depart. Also keep in mind that many banks impose a fee every time a card is used at another bank’s ATM, and that fee can be higher for international transactions ($5 or more) than for domestic ones (where they’re rarely more than $3). On top of this, the bank from which you withdraw cash may charge its own fee.

What is stocked in the cabins?

  • Each room is equipped with a hair dryer and small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Guests are welcome to bring their own hair dryers or other electronics with an EU adapter/converter to plug in.

Is laundry service available onboard?

  • Unfortunately, it is not currently.

What credit cards are accepted in Croatia?

  • American Express is not as commonly accepted in Croatia. Some places do, but the safest option is Visa or Mastercard, or cash. Please note the ship also does not accept American Express.

Do I have a point of contact during travel should anything arise, and we need assistance?

  •  This information is included in your final documents. IWOT has staff in Croatia. Also, your Cruise Manager is a great point of contact.

Are guests allowed to bring beverages onboard for consumption?

  • Unfortunately, no. The ship’s liquor license forbids that. However, if there is a specialty or specific type of alcohol your guests would like, please tell us ahead of time, and we can try to arrange for that to be stocked on board and provide a price for consumption. Please note that not all brands are available in Croatia.

What time are the meals served?

  • Breakfast is from 7:30-9:00AM. Lunch is 12:30-2:00PM. The Welcome Dinner and Captain’s Dinner are at 8:00PM but times are subject to change.

How can I make a dinner reservation?

  • Your Cruise Manager and Charter Concierge have a wealth of knowledge and can assist with this. IWOT can also make reservations ahead of time as well. Especially if you have larger groups of more than 10, it is recommended to make a reservation. Otherwise, each port has a plethora of restaurants from which to choose.

How do guests get to their cabin?

  • The Cruise Manager or someone from the crew shows guests to their cabin, and the bags are taken directly from the dock.

What time does the bar on the ship close?

  • The bar is open from 7:00am-midnight+. The pool (if applicable) and jacuzzi stay open all night. And if guests are still awake, the crew does not close until done, or latest 2:00am.

What happens when guests first arrive on board?

  • The Captain and Cruise Manager will make a short presentation to introduce the crew and go over safety protocols of the ship, along with answering any questions.

Can people drop luggage early?

  • Yes, they can leave the luggage and enjoy being on the ship in the bar or in the salon. Cabins will be clean and ready from 1pm.

Can people leave luggage until 2pm (but check out early).

  • Yes, check out is until 10am and they can leave the luggage until 2pm.

Is the pool freshwater or saltwater?

  • Saltwater, filtered from the sea.

Is the jacuzzi freshwater?

  • Yes, the jacuzzi is freshwater and filtered by chlorine.
